SIGMA FC would like to report that Angelo Sipsas completed a successful trial period with Apollon Kalamaria of the Greek 2nd Division in December 2008. Angelo joined SIGMA in the summer of 2008 after moving to Canada from Greece. He has developed his game with FC IRAKLIS of Salonika during his youth.

"Angelo was a great addition to our A1 (senior) group. He brings a professional attitude to training and matches every time out. You can tell he has received a good education in the game. The opportunity came up in Greece and it only made sense to take advantage of the trial period offered. In the end everything went well and the club would like to have him back in the summer to join. Until then he will remain with SIGMA training and preparing", according to SIGMA Technical Director Bobby Smyrniotis.

Angelo is a versatile player who excels at the right back position where his key characteristics are 1v1 defending aggressive play and the ability to serve the ball going forward. Although the opportunity in Greece is the ultimate goal for Angelo he still does not rule out furthering his play and education south of the border on scholarship.

Angelo is another testament to the hard working players who are part of SIGMA FC and the organizations determination to see their players move on to a lager scale of the game!
