No. 16 Boston College downs No. 22 Dartmouth College 2-0
Sigma's Kyle Bekker assisted on the game winner in the 22nd minute as the Eagles stretched their unbeaten streak to start the season to four games with a 2-0 win over Dartmouth Sunday.
The Eagles' red-hot start to the 2011 season will be tested this Friday (Sept. 9) when they open Atlantic Coast Conference play against NCAA No.4 ranked Maryland Terrapins at Ludwig Field.
After sitting out the Eagles' first game of the season due to a suspension, Bekker has been on form, scoring three goals and adding two assists in three games. He sits second in team scoring and leads BC with 16 shots on goal.
Two SIGMA teammates go Head to Head
On Friday, Boston College defeated Quinnipiac 5-0. The game featured another Sigma alumnus, Remere Warner, who is in his first season with the Bobcats. Bekker opened the scoring on a free kick, his second set piece goal in as many games. Warner played 75 minutes in the loss.
Quinnipiac's second game of the weekend, against Vermont, was cancelled due to an unplayable field.
Oregon State ventures into Carolinas for tough road trip
Oregon State fell 5-1 to the No. 3-ranked Tar Heels of North Carolina on Friday, dropping OSU to 0-2-0 early in the season. After OSU took an early 1-0 lead, Sigma grad Emery Welshman almost doubled the lead with a great scoring chance that just missed the net. The visitor's fortunes faded after that and North Carolina pulled away.
OSU travelled to Winson-Salem, N.C. for a showdown with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Sunday. The teams battled to a scoreless draw. Welshman very nearly won it in regulation with a header that just sailed over the cross bar. Welshman, a junior transfer from Siena College, leads the Beavers with 16 shots in three games.

Pitt earns draw against Valparaiso at Duquesne Invitational tournament
The University of Pittsburgh men's soccer team posted a 1-1 double overtime draw against Valparaiso on Sunday at the Duquesne Invitational. Sigma's Manny Morgado started and had one shot on goal in the tie. For more on Pitt Panthers click here

Oral Roberts: Senior forward Jarrett Hamilton, who was last year's leading goal scorer for the Golden Eagles, scored his first of the year—a one-touch kick off a throw-in from the right sideline—putting the game away, 3-1 against Newman University. For more click here.
Robert Morris University: Shane Beharry started and had one shot on goal for Robert Morris in the Colonials entertaining 1-1 draw with Buffalo. On Sunday, Robert Morris dropped a 3-1 decision to NCAA No.9 ranked Univ. of South Florida in Tampa. Beharry again started and had a shot on goal in the loss. For more on Robert Morris click here
Adelphi University: Jordan Hibbert started for Adelphi is a 3-1 non-conference loss to Marist on Sunday. Hibbert picked up a yellow card in the 70th minute.
University of Dayton: The Flyers lost 6-0 to NCAA No. 18 ranked Indiana on Sunday. Freshman Ryan Lyn got some experience against tough NCAA competition in the contest. Lyn entered the game in the 40th minute. He was substituted out at the 81st. On Friday, Dayton fell 4-1 to NCAA No.10 ranked Notre Dame Fighting Irish. For more click here.
Bryant University: Lucas Guerriero and the Bulldogs lost 1-0 to Rhode Island in the opening round of the second annual Ocean State Soccer Classic on Saturday. Bryant faced NCAA No.11 ranked Brown Univ. Monday night in the consolation round. Guerreiro played 78 minutes had had two shots in the loss to Rhode Island. For more click here
Herkimer CC: Jordan Stoddart scored twice including the winner three minutes into the contest, as the powerhouse Herkimer CC ran over Clinton CC 9-0. Stoddart scored his second goal of the game at the 31st minute. Defender Elliott Hockley (Sheffield, England) cross the ball from the right flank and Stoddart leaped and headed it past the Clinton goalie.

Cal State Stanislaus: The Warriors pulled out a 2-1 win over Notre Dame de Namur, Sunday afternoon at Warrior Stadium to complete a perfect weekend. CSS defeated Fresno Pacific 4-1 on Friday. Sigma's Nolan Holdridge played 16 minutes and recorded two shots on net in Friday's win.
Simon Fraser: Lucas Ferritto scored a goal in SFU's 5-1 win over Thompson River University as the Clan improved to 2-0 on the season. On Friday, SFU opened their season with a 2-0 win over Vancouver Island University. For more click here
Cal State Los Angeles: The Golden Eagles struck for three goals in a 19-minute span of the opening period and went on to a 3-0 victory over Colorado Mesa on Saturday at Jesse Owens Track in Los Angeles. Cal State L.A. (2-0) has outscored its first two opponents, 9-0. Sigma's Jordan Payne recorded an assist in the contest. For more click here
