Name: Lucas Guerriero

Strengths:
Lucas is an explosive winger who excels at beating players in 1v1 situations. He is a constant threat to opponents and unpredictable when in possession as he can play with both feet. His biggest strengths are his technical ability on the ball and speed.

Achievements:

  • OSL U21 League Champion - 2010
  • SAAC Senior Showcase League Champion - 2009

Coach Smyrniotis:
"Lucas has been with us since the beginning and has grown immensely as a player and a person. His ability to dominate a game is rare to find in a player. Beyond the field Lucas is a great student and with this combination he will be an instant asset to coach Seamus Purcell's growing Bryant University squad. I congratulate his family for their support of Lucas and belief in SIGMA FC. I look forward to following his development.

In his own words:
"I have now trained and played with Sigma for three and a half years. I had played on my club team since age 8 and I made the decision to leave and join Sigma full time in order to continue my development. Now that I am about to join a Division 1, NCAA team in the U.S., I realize what a good decision I made in joining Sigma. I feel that the outstanding training, coaching and discipline I experienced is unique to Sigma. I am privileged to play with outstanding teammates, as well as with the men's team which boasts some very accomplished players.

"Next year, I will be playing for the Bryant University Bulldogs. I chose this school due to their strong academic programs, my fit with the head coach, Seamus Purcell, and the strong support they demonstrated to me as an incoming international student. They are 3 years into a 4-year transitional period from Division 2 to Division 1, and I am excited about being a part of that. I hope to play a key role in their starting lineup during my Freshman year.

"Besides soccer, I plan to study Actuarial Math, or Business with a Finance major. I hope to remain very connected with Sigma and play on the men's team on my return to Canada during the summers."
