Sigma Sports Solutions is pleased to announce that Eric Leal of the Sigma ETC A1 squad will be trialing at FC Groningen in the Netherlands in late October 2007. Eric's play had been monitored for some time now and his positive showing during the Sigma ETC Showcase Combine in June of 2007 in front of European scouts and US University coaches is what solidified this opportunity.

Sigma Managing Director Constantine Smyrniotis responsible for placing the Sigma players with pro clubs, "It is a great opportunity for Eric to continue his development in a great system as that found in Holland, and specifically at FC Groningen. The club does remarkable work within their youth setup making an ideal environment for young talent to develop. The clubs most famous graduate from recent times is Arjen Robben who is now at Real Madrid. Eric has worked hard for this opportunity and we wish him all the best on this journey and life experience. It is opportunities such as these that will not only help build his future, but also provide opportunities for other young Canadian talent within the Sigma group".

Eric has been a member of the Sigma ETC program from 2007 and was also a member of the Canadian National U-17 team taking part in the squads U-17 World cup qualifiers this past spring in Jamaica.
