SIGMA FC is pleased to announce that yet another player of the A1 (senior) SIGMA FC squad has put pen to paper and pledged their commitment to a US university on an athletic scholarship. Emery Welshman (1991) has accepted an athletic scholarship to attend SIENA University in Albany New York. Emery was one of SIGMA's most sought after players in the 2009 graduating class. After offers from several schools across the US, Emery decided in favor of attending SIENA.

Emery Welshman has been a member of SIGMA FC for two seasons and has seen his stock and game rise to new levels over that time period. A proven goalscorer with attacking prowess, Emery is a versatile striker who can play a variety of roles and positions for a coach in the front line of the attack. SIGMA Technical Director, Bobby Smyrniotis has been instrumental in the progress of Emery and has witnessed him become a more complete player. "It has been a privilege to have Emery at SIGMA over the past few years. When he came to us he was known in the age group as a quick striker capable of scoring goals. Leaving us in August he has become a total player. Emery has gained all the confidence in the world during his time at SIGMA and has learned to use his top qualities as a player at the right moments in the game. He can play as a target or peripheral striker and is equally efficient playing on the wing. He will definitely succeed at SIENA and beyond."

Emery joins a program at SIENA led by coach Gareth Elliot. Playing in the MAAC Conference, Emery will have the opportunity to shine and more importantly assist in the effort to have SIENA challenge for a conference championship and reach the NCAA tournament.

SIGMA would like to congratulate Emery and his family for their dedication and efforts over the years which lead to this great opportunity.

Well Done Emery! Keep on Making SIGMA proud!
