Entering its eleventh (11th) season, Sigma's ETC program is set to begin a new season delivering technical training to young aspiring soccer players.

In addition to providing a solid grounding in the basics needed to become a sound technical soccer player well-versed in the modern game, SIGMA's ETC training is also the entry point for players looking to one day become full-fledged members of the academy.

It's been the entry point for many of the SIGMA's current players who are now making a huge impact in U.S. collegiate soccer and in the professional game.

As it is with any program however, the departure of academy graduates only means the job starts again for the next generation. Sigma's Elite Training Centre (ETC) Program has been the proven development path for future players.

The ETC Program is set to welcome past participants and its newest members when the 2015-16 edition kicks off October 25th until early May at the Wild Water Kingdom Dome (turf) facility in Brampton.

The focus of the program is on each individual participant's technical development and progresses to more complex topics with participant age and learning curve. From there, some participants may follow the path blazed by other SIGMA players within the successful FC teams, and play full time in the academy.

"This is the starting point for all young players at SIGMA," said SIGMA FC Technical Director Bobby Smyrniotis. "The ETC Program is an excellent technical development experience for all young aspiring soccer players."

This year's ETC Program is open to players 7-15 years old. Those born between the years 2000-2005 will train twice a week, while younger participants born 2006-2009 train once a week in a program that serves as a compliment to their existing soccer (and other sport) involvement.

The recent Talent Days event in September attracted over 200 participants who were able to take part in a few sessions in the "Sigma way" and hopeful to be included in the ETC Program going forward. The majority of players on the SIGMA FC Academy teams have graduated up from the ETC Program, showing the importance of the program within Sigma's development pathway- one which has graduated players to college/university, pro and national teams.

On the collegiate side, over 40 Sigma grads are playing on either side of the border following in the footsteps of a few notables such as Cyle Larin, Emery Welshman and Kyle Bekker having graduated from college to the MLS ranks. Sigma FC grads are playing prominent roles for their respective schools, increasing the prominence of SIGMA FC as a leading development academy in North America.

Sigma's ETC program begins Oct. 25th at Wild Water Kingdom in Brampton, Ont.
