Name: Jonathan Grant
Club: Montreal Impact
Position: Wingback

Jonathan Grant has signed with Montreal Impact II and will be an anchor on the club's USL defensive back line. Grant, 22, makes the move to the professional ranks in 2015 along with four of his SIGMA FC academy teammates.

"Johnny is an excellent young man and terrific player who will flourish in this opportunity to play in Montreal. It's enjoyable to watch him play, with qualities difficult to find in his position. I believe he has a high ceiling as a player and soon enough his trajectory will take him to the first team in Montreal," said Smyrniotis.

Grant, a dynamic attacking right back, best uses his technical ability with his speed to be a constant wide threat for opposition. He recently took part in his second camp with the Canadian Men's national team, after being spotted by head coach Benito Floro. He spent four months on an extended training period with Belgium's KRC Genk. Despite playing only 12 games for SIGMA FC's League 1 Ontario side, Grant was named to the leagues Top XI.

Grant joins Cyle Larin (Orlando City), Emery Welshman (Real Monarchs), Giuliano Frano (Seattle Sounders II) and Greg Ranjitsingh (Louisville City) as SIGMA FC and League1 Ontario graduates in the professional ranks in 2015.
