Greg Ranjitsingh has signed with USL Pro's Louisville City, making him one of five player from SIGMA FC's 2014 League1 Ontario team to move into the professional ranks in 2015.
Ranjitsingh was the backbone of SIGMA's League1 campaign, and subsequent to that he completed an excellent collegiate career at Georgia's, Mercer University. While a Mercer, Ranjitsingh became one of the best goalkeepers in the NCAA, earning multiple individual accolades within the conference and region.
Ranjitsingh is one of SIGMA FC's longstanding members. His development over the past few years has led to opportunities with the Trinidad & Tobago's U-20 team.
According to SIGMA FC technical director Bobby Smyrniotis, Ranjitsingh's shot stopping ability is a key attribute that makes him such an important player on any team he plays for.
"Greg has elevated his game to another level over the past two years as he has taken a very professional approach to his position," said Smyrniotis. "Over his time at Mercer University he proved through his numbers that he was one of the top goalkeepers in NCAA soccer. His continued work ethic and commitment during his time at SIGMA has allowed him to be prepared for this next level of the game."
Ranjitsingh joins Cyle Larin (Orlando City), Emery Welshman (Real Monarchs), Giuliano Frano (Seattle Sounders II) and Johnny Grant (Montreal Impact II) as SIGMA FC and League1 Ontario graduates in the professional ranks.
