Name: Ejiroghene Mrabure

  • Position: Striker
  • Years at SIGMA: 2013
  • University: Jacksonville University

Strengths:

A powerful striker who finishes very well inside the box. A rare two footed player who can pass and beat opponents with the same ease. Has a very good track record of scoring and getting on the end of attacks.

Bobby Smyrniotis on Mrabure:
Eji joined us in 2013 and has been fantastic since coming on board. He has a great mentality and drive to learn the finer points in regards to his position and what is needed to elevate his level. As a striker he has a good sense of the goal especially in and around the box. His ability to play and strike the ball with both feet makes it difficult for defenders to get a proper read on his motions. Off the field he is a great guy to have in the dressing room and gels well with all the guys. His decision to continue playing and developing at Jacksonville is a very good one and will allow him to grow and mature further as a player. Jacksonville University is a program looking to make forward strides in the game over the next few years and we look forward to Eji playing an important role in Coach Maurizio Ruiz's plans.

In His Own Words:
"I've decided to commit to Jacksonville University (JU) for the academic opportunities and progressive men's soccer team. With the warm weather at JU, I will be able to constantly get touches on the ball, and with the right focus and with all the resources provided by Jacksonville it will allow me to elevate my game and take things to the next level. I am anxious to start this new chapter, and to mature while competing for a NCAA D1 Success.

"In just one year with SIGMA FC, I've been able to reunite with former teammates, create new relationships with coaches, players, parents. Sigma provides great exposure to what young athletes need. This has become a family to me, and I couldn't have asked for a better place to play and learn.

Coach Bobby has been amazing coach and certainly unforgettable. He will tell you what is incorrect, and will make sure you understand how to correct or improve - which is key. Much respect and gratitude to the rest of the Sigma FC staff, my friends and family and all those who have supported me from the beginning. God Bless."

Coach Mauricio Ruiz on Mrabure:
"We are very excited to add Eji to our JU family. He's a player of high quality with a very high ceiling and a bright future. He will bring a lot of character to our locker room, great work ethic to our practice fields, and a high focus into academics. We are a better program with the addition of Eji to our roster."

"Sigma has proven in recent history, how the preparation of their athletes allow them to transition into college soccer and be impact players and people. I want to thank Bobby for helping out in the process and always being honest, welcoming and organized throughout the recruiting process"
